FastWeb — Search Accelerator

Revives dead links. Accelerates live ones. Alternate domains, bookmarks & link prefetch on search pages.

FastWeb shows official alternate domains, your bookmarks, and accelerates link loading — right on Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, and Yandex search pages.

WHY FASTWEB?

Some websites change domains, get blocked, or move to new addresses. FastWeb keeps a map of domain-to-alternate relationships so you never hit a dead end in search results. One click takes you to the working version.

WHAT IT DOES

  • Alternate domains — when a search result matches a domain in your list, FastWeb shows its official mirrors and alternates in a compact panel right on the SERP
  • Smart bookmarks — scans your bookmarks and shows relevant ones alongside search results, no need to open the bookmark manager
  • Link acceleration — optionally warms up DNS, TCP, and TLS connections for top search results on hover. When you click, the page loads noticeably faster. No content is downloaded — only connection setup
  • Multi-engine — supports Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, and Yandex
  • Domain bundles — start with a curated bundle of popular alternate domains for your locale. Auto-updates daily. Add your own domains manually or import a JSON file
  • Flexible display — choose between a full panel with details or a compact icon-only badge on search results
  • Dark theme — follows system preference or manual toggle

HOW IT WORKS

  1. Install FastWeb
  2. Open settings via the toolbar icon
  3. Load the starter bundle or add your own domains
  4. Search on any supported engine — alternates appear automatically
  5. Watch for the lightning icon when acceleration warms up links

PRIVACY

  • Local-first — all data stays in your browser via chrome.storage.sync
  • No analytics — no tracking, no telemetry, no external requests except the optional bundle sync
  • No content downloaded — prefetch only warms up connections (DNS/TCP/TLS), never fetches page content
  • Sync-only storage — your domain list syncs across your Chrome devices, nothing else leaves the browser

PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED

  • Storage: save your domain list and preferences
  • Bookmarks: read bookmarks to show relevant ones on SERP
  • Tabs: detect active tab for panel display
  • Host permissions: inject SERP panel on search pages, prefetch links
