VirusTotal Domain Monitor is a browser-native watchlist tool for webmasters, agencies, SEO teams, and domain operators who need a practical view of domain reputation through the official VirusTotal API.

Add your own domains to a watchlist, let the extension check them on a schedule, and use the browser-action badge to spot the current site's verdict at a glance. When a domain is flagged, open the record to review per-vendor results and start dispute work directly from the side panel.

Built for the free VirusTotal API

You use your own free VirusTotal Public API key. The extension throttles requests (15s interval), caps bulk checks, and shows your daily usage so you stay within the free-tier allowance.

Who it is for

What it does not do

Does not block websites, inject warnings, replace antivirus software, scan page content, or use a third-party reputation backend.

Privacy

The extension talks only to the official VirusTotal API. Your API key, settings, watchlist, and cached results stay in browser storage. No analytics, no telemetry, no external sync.

Setup

  1. Create a free account at virustotal.com and copy your Public API key.
  2. Open the extension and paste the key.
  3. Add domains to your watchlist.
  4. Choose a check interval and rescan policy.
